Who We Are

The Original Base Kampers

Married since 2010, Lea and Mark share two kids, a busy life filled with work, sports, family, and friends, and an abiding love for skiing and the outdoors. We each grew up skiing and took our first ski trip together as a couple a month after our wedding (a day trip to Cascade Mountain in Wisconsin, still a family favorite).

Once our kids (H and Z) arrived, it was clear that skiing would become part of their lives, too. Through years of trial and error, we’ve figured out what works for us: how to pack the car for a day trip, what equipment is easiest for our kids to manage, what skis we like (as two very different skiers), how to plan longer trips to bigger mountains, and more. In our effort to help our kids become as confident as possible on the mountain, H and Z, now 14 and 11, have become junior racers. We’re looking forward to sharing our experience as a ski racing family with you, too!
